Creative ironworker Steaven Richard specialises in the artistic work of metals. Atelier Steaven Richard creates original and tailor-made works in the world of interior decoration and has built an innovative corporate image following the development of a new skill: artistic lamination. This unique savoir-faire consists of texturising metal sheets of brass, copper or nickel silver. These textures can be made to measure for the most demanding projects.
Sensitive to the approach of visual artists and sculptors, Steaven Richard constantly pushes the limits of art metalwork. Over time, and faced with many architectural and decorative challenges, his workshop has developed more than 100 patinas and textures. This richness allows infinite combinations, from metals as different as bronze, steel, nickel silver or titanium.
In a constant quest for innovation, Steaven Richard combines different techniques and traditions to meet the most demanding challenges in the field of interior design.
This is how, in 2013, for Karl Lagerfeld’s Studio at Chanel, he created a Versailles parquet floor in textured nickel silver. This project marked a turning point in the development of the workshop as Steaven Richard has the intuition that the technique he has used for this project can revolutionise the work of metal.
Monumental installations, unique pieces or in small series for interior architecture and decoration, the creations of Atelier Steaven Richard carry a resolutely contemporary aesthetic.
Internationally recognised, Steaven Richard collaborates notably with renowned interior architects – such as Pierre Yovanovitch, Jean- Louis Deniot, Pierre-Yves Rochon and Sybille de Margerie – as well as with luxury houses, including Cartier, Kering and Rémy Martin, and museum institutions (Musée du Quai Branly Jacques Chirac, Shoah Memorial).
Since 2011, Steaven Richard has also been a member of the Grands Ateliers de France and a holder of the “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” label.
