Ateliers Lison de Caunes

For Lison de Caunes, straw marquetry is a cherished childhood memory. She became familiar with this material in her grandfather André Groult’s Art Deco workshop. After studying bookbinding, she returned to straw marquetry, revolutionizing the technique with bookbinding tools like the bone folder, which she still uses.

Initially restoring masterpieces, Lison now creates furniture, objects, and wall coverings. She works both independently (Lison de Caunes Créations) and in collaboration with renowned interior architects and designers such as Peter Marino, Jacques Grange, and Mathieu Lehanneur.

As a Master of Art and member of Grands Ateliers de France and EPV (Entreprises du Patrimoine Vivant), Lison was honored as Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur. Today, she markets her own designs, including coffee tables, screens, and decorative objects like boxes and trays, applying straw marquetry to everyday items in a unique, timeless style.
