Born in Lebanon, parisian at heart, Aline Asmar d’Amman is the architect, interior designer and founder behind Culture in Architecture, a design studio based in Beirut and in Paris, committed to bridging cultures while balancing the past and the present. Approaching each project with an evocative and narrative force, Aline Asmar d’Amman weaves intricate dialogues between the raw and the precious, heritage and modernity, poetry and materiality.

The international firm has been at the helm of several iconic interior projects, including the re-opening of the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris and the renovation of the Eiffel Tower’s gastronomic restaurant Le Jules Verne, while overseeing the renovation of Palazzo Dona Giovannelli, Venice’s historical jewel, home to the future Orient-Express Hotel. The architect is tasked with the rebirth of another beacon of luxury hospitality in Italy’s lake Como, Villa Belinzaghi, steeped in the heart of Villa d’Este’s property.
Aline Asmar d’Amman collaborated with design legend Karl Lagerfeld on the Hôtel de Crillon Les Grands Appartements and developed his collection of functional sculptures, Architectures, showcased at the Carpenters Workshop Gallery. In 2022, she created the architectural scenography of the Lebanese Pavilion at the Venice Art Biennale and imagined The Memory of Stones, a series of unique works playing on salvaged marbles and brutalism, expanding her eponymous furniture collection that includes the distinctive ‘Georgia’ conversation salon.
In 2023, Aline Asmar d’Amman chaired the Villa Noailles’ jury for the Design Parade Toulon festival and imagined a collection of functional sculptures with an evocative presence, Béton Littéraire (Literary Concrete), celebrating culture as an essential framework.
In 2024, the architect is invited by le 19m Chanel’s Métier d’Art hub to design le Petit Salon, a private and refined reception area celebrating the extraordinary savoir-faire of the Maisons d’art residents in their Parisian headquarters.

Pursuing cross disciplinary work ranging from interior architecture to art direction and scenography for private and public projects around the world, Aline Asmar d’Amman’s contemporary approach is nurtured by a dedication to savoir-faire and fostering cultural conversations.
